Transportation

Puerta de Toledo Campus of the Carlos III University of Madrid is located in the centre of Madrid and it is served by 10 lines of buses and the Metro Line 5 – stop “Puerta de Toledo”.


– by taxi –

Taxi fare is made up of various separate charges. The basic rate depends on the number of kilometres travelled, the time, the day of the week and the supplementary charges. There is an airport surcharge of €4.00, and if you are carrying more than two pieces of luggage, there is a charge of €1.50 for each bag. The flat rate from the airport to Puerta de Toledo will be €30. In Spain Uber is not legal.


– by metro –

The Madrid Metro system has a stop at the Madrid-Barajas Airport called “Aeropuerto T1, T2 y T3”, and it is on line number 8. To reach the Puerta de Toledo Campus, take line 8 direction “Nuevos Ministerios”. Once there, you will take the metro line 10 to “Alonso Martínez”, where you have to switch to metro line 5 to “Puerta de Toledo”. Please, find a metro map here.

– by train –

You can take the Cercanías trains from the Airport (Terminal 4), Nuevos Ministerios or Atocha RENFE. From the Airport (Terminal 4), take the line C1 (direction: “Principe Pio”) to the “Piramides” station and then metro line 5 until next stop “Puerta de Toledo”. Please, find a train map here.

– by bus –

There is also an Airport Express bus service which connects the Barajas Airport and the Atocha station. The buses run every 15 minutes during the day and every 35 at night, and the journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Tickets cost 5 euros and may be bought on board. There are stops at terminals T1, T2 and T4.
